Bihar Flood Relief
Bihar Flood Relief

The new SOS Children's Village Begu Sari is the base camp for a major relief operation to help the September 2008 flood victims,     primarily in the State of Bihar. SOS India has provided emergency packages containing dry food, baby food, drinking water, milk powder, clothes, and medical treatment to affected families and children.

SOS India set up a relief centre that has already cared for  1,600 families and  over 3,000 children.  Children who were separated from their families during the crisis are being cared for at SOS Begu Sari.  SOS India will work with local authorities to find these families; if they can’t be found, these children will remain with their surrogate SOS mothers at SOS Begu Sari.

Emergency relief continues for victims of the October 2005 Earthquake disaster. SOS focused on caring for children who were left on their own and building two new SOS Villages to raise them in Rawalakot and Muzaffarabad.

Thousands of earthquake victims have been assisted by SOS emergency work. Over 200 children who were orphaned during the earthquake, are now in the care of SOS Pakistan, temporarily living in SOS family homes and Youth Homes in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, and Sialkot as they await completion of the two new Villages.
