He was also Goalkeeper for the Canadian Men's Soccer Team, making his World Cup Team debut in 1988. He last played for Canada in the Gold Cup final against Columbia in 2000, registering a shutout in that game. During that series, Craig allowed only 3 goals in 5 games and stopped two penalty shots, earning him MVP Honors, Most Outstanding Goalie and an All Star of the tournament.
Craig has proudly led the Canadian National team to victory on a total of 56 occasions.

When he retired from the game in July 2002 Craig had not allowed a single goal since February 20th of 2000! In 1994, Craig was selected by the Canadian media as the Canadian player of the year.
More recently, Craig Forrest accepted the role of 'FIFA for SOS Children's Villages Ambassador for Canada' in 2005 and has been appointed the Honourary chair for the 2007 FIFA World Youth Cup.
