Fundraising
- Identify fundraising opportunities in host city in partnership with FIFA Site Organizing Committee (SOC) and local stakeholders
- Promote Campaign at events/functions in host city
- Assist in the coordination of fundraising events
Volunteer Recruitment
- Recruit volunteers at events and throughout the community
Volunteer Coordination
- Volunteer training and orientation
- Contact volunteers regarding shift schedules
- Be readily accessible to volunteers with emergencies
- Ensure volunteers have refreshments and food
Liaison
- Be the contact person for SOS, the SOC and FIFA on-site team
- Keep SOS updated regarding activities, events and volunteers through weekly reports
Storage and Transportation
- Provide storage space and transportation for all material required at U-20 matches and other events
At the U-20 & other events
- Help set-up and tear-down
- Hand out pamphlets/leaflets about SOS
- Hand out other premiums connected to the campaign
- Be able to speak clearly about SOS, its history and programs
- Be enthusiastic and draw people to our booth to promote the campaign
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must have a vehicle and a valid license to transport all relevant materials
- Must have space to store all relevant materials
- Fluency in English, preferably bilingual (bilingualism required for Montreal)
- Excellent communication, problem-solving and leadership skills
- Must be able to attend all of the following matches in the city they’ll be working in;
Burnaby: July 7 & 11
Edmonton: July 2, 5, 8, 11, 12, 14 & 18
Toronto: July 1, 2, 5, 8, 11, 12, 14, 19 & 22
Montreal: July 8, 12 & 15
Employment Duration
- This is a short-term contract position, beginning in May and ending by July 31st, 2007
- Team Leaders will be required to be at the tournament 5.5 – 11 hrs per day, depending on whether it’s a double-header
- Please note that Team Leaders are required to arrive at the stadium 5 hours prior to kick-off, and must stay until tear-down
- This means that Team Leaders may be required at the stadium as early as 7:15 AM and as late as 11:15 PM
- A maximum of 20 hours/week will be required outside the tournament
Compensation
- Confidential
- Team Leaders will be provided with free admission to select FIFA U-20 World Cup matches on dates that they are working at the stadium
- Please note that on most days tear-down must occur immediately after kick-off, thus causing Team Leaders to miss part of the beginning of the match
