In Mbabane, Swaziland, SOS mother Patricia knows the value of the gift of love. She is the SOS mother to 10 children who have no one else who can care for them and look to her for a loving home. Patricia also knows that the children she cares for wouldn’t have the opportunity for a mother and family without the support of caring people like the Wilms. Their generous donation makes it possible for these orphaned and abandoned children to find a home, without which their future would be bleak.

The long-term care in the SOS Children’s Village Mbabane extends well beyond the 100+ children who call it home. With an SOS Kindergarten, as well as primarily and secondary schools, education can be offered to over 1000 children in the surrounding community. In addition, SOS runs a small medical clinic, with four treatment rooms. The Family Strengthening Programme provides families with access to essential services and helps build family resources by offering food assistance, educational scholarships, literacy classes, renovation of shelters, individual and communal food production and other income generating activities.
SOS Children’s Villages invests in the development of an entire community; giving greater opportunity for new independent SOS children to live in a thriving community in which they can contribute.
