Fundraising for WOW with your school

Get your school involved in fighting the World Orphan Crisis! Your school, classes, and clubs can choose to fundraise for SOS Children's Villages' important work of caring for orphaned and abandoned children.

You can fundraise on your own, with your friends and family, with your class, with a team or with a club.

By fundraising for SOS Children’s Villages, you are giving a home to children in need and helping to strengthen their families and communities.

Finding ways to raise funds isn't actually that difficult. In fact, it’s as easy as ABC…

Some top school fundraisers:

Wear something WOW : If your school has a uniform, every student can donate a small amount ( $1-2) for an extra dress down day. If your school doesn’t have a uniform, you can donate to wear something unusual to school : dress in something funny, scary, glamourous, as someone’s look alike.

You can also work to raise a set target, which, once reached, will result in your teacher(s)/principal(s) wearing something funny to school, dying or shaving their hair—laughs guaranteed!

DO something WOW : Collect sponsors for accomplishments: winning 3 basketball games in a row, giving up chocolate or television for a week....etc.

You can participate in the Chores for Change Challenge and get sponsored to do extra chores for your family, school and or community while getting a better idea of how hard children around the world work.

Don’t forget! World Orphan Week is right before Valentine’s Day and Family Day (in some provinces).

Why not donate some of the proceeds from your Valentine’s Day dance or candy grams? Hold a silent auction in your school gym. If your school would be into selling delicious chocolates? get in touch with us and we’ll direct you to a Fair Trade company that can set you up to fundraise…

The options are as endless as your imagination!

Whatever you do, make sure to get in touch with us. We will gladly support you as best we can!
