SOS Children's Villages Canada announces their renewed partnership with Salute to Vienna! New Year’s Concert 2012!
SOS Children's Villages Canada is pleased to announce their partnership with SALUTE TO VIENNA (STV), “The World’s Greatest New Year’s Concert”, will continue into 2012. This cherished alliance will endeavour to raise funds and awareness for orphaned and abandoned children around the world.
Inspired by Vienna’s world-famous New Year’s concert, Salute to Vienna is an uplifting and enchanting celebration that has been delighting audiences all over North America for 17 years. The 2012 New Year’s concert showcases Salute to Vienna in 16 cities from coast to coast in both Canada and the United States. Over fifty thousand people will be dazzled from Vancouver to Québec and from New York to Miami. Artistic directors Attila and Marion Glatz, who were awarded the prestigious Decoration of Merit in Gold from the Austrian Government, carefully select some of the most dynamic, young talent the musical world has to offer, casting new conductors, sopranos, tenors and dancers of international acclaim. Salute to Vienna brings all these artists together, in collaboration with full symphony orchestras, to perform festive Viennese music and ring in the New Year!
This season’s hosting Canadian cities include: Montreal, Quebec City, Toronto, Edmonton, Calgary, and Vancouver.
With its roots in post World War II Austria as well, SOS Children's Villages are spread around the world as a beacon of hope for children in need. Similarly, Salute to Vienna represents the very best of Austria’s Viennese musical legacy. Together they will support the work of SOS Children's Villages to provide care for children in need and support for their families and communities.
