FreeBalance raises funds for SOS Children’s Village Montevideo

Sunday, August 18, 2013

Employees of FreeBalance, a longstanding partner and supporter of SOS Children’s Villages, recently traveled to the SOS Children’s Village in Montevideo, southern Uruguay.

Prior to their visit, FreeBalance employees organized a series of fundraising initiatives to raise the money needed to buy new linen and blankets for the children in the Montevideo village. In June 2011, several staff members from FreeBalance who were traveling to Uruguay for a business trip were able to deliver the donations in person.

The FreeBalance employees who visited the SOS Children’s Village were moved by the experience. “Visiting the SOS Village in Montevideo was a very rewarding experience. FreeBalance would like to thank SOS Children’s Villages for welcoming us to help make a positive difference for the children.  It was beautiful to see the smiles on those little faces. So special!” said Sara Lopes of FreeBalance.

The SOS Children’s Village in Montevideo was the first village built in Uruguay. It officially opened in 1967, and today the village consists of 13 family houses and is home to 104 children. The SOS staff members from the Montevideo village were very happy and grateful to have the support and dedication of FreeBalance in helping the vulnerable children of Uruguay.
