Internationally, we cooperate with UN agencies, other international bodies, as well as NGO networks regarding issues that have an impact on the rights and needs of the children we work with.

United Nations

SOS Children’s Villages International has been in "special consultative status" with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations (UN) since 1995. This status is granted to international NGOs that share common objectives with the UN and it allows us to make substantial contributions to UN work.

The NGO Group for the Convention on the Rights of the Child

The Geneva-based NGO Group for the Convention on the Rights of the Child is a coalition of international NGOs, which works together to facilitate the implementation of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child.  It works in close cooperation with the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child to support civil society contributions to the monitoring of the Convention.

NGO Committee on UNICEF

SOS Children's Villages is a long-standing member of the New York-based NGO Committee on UNICEF, a world-wide network of over 80 NGOs that fosters partnership between NGOs and UNICEF locally and internationally.

The Better Care Network

SOS Children’s Villages is a member of the advisory board of the The Better Care Network (BCN), a network of organizations and individuals who wish to exchange and collaborate on the issue of children without parental care.
