In addition, we provide education, training and medical care for children in our SOS Villages and in the surrounding regions.
We operate more than 228 kindergartens which not only benefit over 23,000 children from our villages, but also children from surrounding communities.
Our 191 schools worldwide provide education not only to the children in our care but also to the ones in the broader community educating over 135,000 children worldwide.
We have developed over 383 youth facilities to help prepare our SOS Children for independent life beyond the SOS Village.
We run over 109 vocational training centres which provide advanced training to help our older children and young adults prepare for their adjustment to independent living. Currently there are over 30,000 participants from our SOS Villages and surrounding communities enrolled in our vocational training programs .

We operate social and medical centres for the children in our care and the surrounding communities. There are over 950,000 beneficiaries
of these services every year.
We run family strengthening programs to reduce child abandonment and support families at risk in the communities around our SOS Villages.
When emergencies strike near our facilities we are able to help quickly and appropriately because of our established base in the area. As of January 1, 2009 we are running 9 SOS emergency relief programs.
