Numerous guests of honour and celebrities attended this ceremony in the Jordanian capital Amman, including the city's mayor and a representative from the office of Prince Ali Bin Al Hussein, who is also the honorary president of the Jordanian SOS Children's Village association. Other guests included Jordan's national team and the team coach.
Already before this ceremony, in which the official SOS/FIFA Ambassador certificate was handed over, Jamal Abu Abed and other representatives of Jordan's national side visited an SOS Children's Village in Jordan. Jamal Abu Abed captained his country's national team until his retirement from the sport in July 2003.
