Malawi is located in Southern Africa and is one of the poorest countries in the world. There are lesson plans, outlining some of the issues faced by Malawians, for every age group.

Children can explore various African folk tales, helping them understand the culture of children in central/southern Africa and Malawi and improving their literacy skills. This lesson is intended for Kindergarten-Grade 1 students.

This lesson helps students understand thatwater is an important resource and that
people in Malawi cannot access it as easily as we can in Canada. It is geared towards a Kindergarten-Grade 1 audience.
Wants and Needs:
This lesson helps students understand the basic needs that children share
and the fact that many in this world don’t have those needs met. It leads children to distinguish between needs and wants and to share their ideas with others. It is recommended for Kindergarten- Grade 1

This general introduction to the country of Malawi helps students understand where
Malawi is, what it is like there and how it is different from Canada. It can be catered to Grade 1- Grade 6 students.

This lesson helps students understand how money is made to support people and the economy of Malawi with some comparisons to Canada. It is intended for students in Grade 3-Grade 6.

This lesson provides an introduction to HIV/AIDS and related issues in Malawi. It is more advanced than other lessons and is recommended for Grade 8 and up
