It was a full house at Marigold’s Harvest Hullabaloo as over 200 people gathered to raise funds for SOS Children’s Villages Gaza on September 27.

The night was an outstanding success, with over $11,000 raised for orphaned and abandoned children living in the care of SOS Children’s Villages in the war-torn Gaza strip. The volunteer planning committee, Friends of SOS Children’s Villages Canada wanted to host an event that raised awareness on the current condition children are facing in Palestine.

Harvest Hullaballo, was held outside at Maheen and Naeem Sachedin’s home. The grounds were beautifully decorated in a festival of autumn colour and seasonal accents that brought the harvest theme to life. Fortunately, the weather could not have been more perfect. The aroma of Pakistani cuisine and the sound of upbeat South-Asian music filled the air while the crowd danced under the stars.

Friends of SOS Children’s Villages Canada have been kindly supporting SOS Children’s Villages Canada for 15 years. Their support helped build SOS Children’s Village Muzaffarabad in Pakistan, support our Haiti Earthquake and India Flooding Relief. Over the years, these dedicated volunteers have raised over $100,000 for these and other projects!

The money raised at Harvest Hullabaloo will support SOS Children's Villages Rafah Fund, which provides assistance to vulnerable families living in the Gaza strip. SOS Children´s Villages has been active in the Palestinian Territories since 1968. The SOS Children’s Village in Rafah, was established in 2001, in addition to two SOS Kindergartens, an SOS School and an SOS Social Centre.

SOS Children’s Villages Canada would like to thank Friends of SOS Children’s Villages Canada for their wonderful support.
