The whole world is home

Samuel is 19 years old and in his second year at university. He has been given the opportunity to participate in the photography project celebrating the 60th anniversary of SOS Children's Villages. His contribution is supposed to reflect what 'home' means to him.

Samuel is a believer in values that should be developed at home. 'Support should be given to all to succeed in the goals we aim at in life,' he says.

Flor de Maria is the SOS aunt of Alba Luz, Samuel's biological sister. 'I remember when he graduated from high school, we had a dinner at home with his five biological siblings,' says Flor de Maria.

Samuel visits his sister Alba Luz every weekend. She is the youngest sibling and the only one who still lives in the village.

Alba Luz states that Samuel 'is cool'. She says that her brother loves soccer. When he visits the village on weekends, he invites the children to play football.

Alba Luz also says: 'When he was in Costa Rica, he used to send me postcards. He studied there with a scholarship because he was a good student.

Flor de Maria notes that Samuel advises Alba Luz to push forward and take advantage of the opportunities offered by SOS Children's Villages.
