Global Peace Games 2006 a Success!!
Hundreds of young soccer players across Canada joined children in over 50 countries around the world to participate in the 2006 Global Peace Games.
The Global Peace Games are held on or around September 21st to mark the UN International Day of Peace. |
The games bring communities together across the world to celebrate the principles of peace and draw attention to pressing global issues.

This year the flagship event was held on Parliament Hill in Ottawa, in the shadow of the Peace Tower.
Global Peace Games events are also took place across the country in over 20 locations, from BC to Nunavut to Nova Scotia.

The Games are initiated by SOS Children's Villages Canada, with the assistance of their partners, the Canadian Commission for UNESCO and the Canadian Soccer Association.
