“Alessandra’s* health was quite bad, and she was supposed to have had treatment, but nobody helped her before she came to me. I immediately took her to the hospital and she was diagnosed with anemia and other diseases,” says SOS Mother Cacilda.

Alone after the death of her mother, Alessandra was brought to Cacilda when she was only one year old. Suffering from malnutrition and many other preventable diseases, Cacilda was able to provide a safe and loving home, complete with eight brothers and sisters to a little girl that otherwise may never have experienced this sort of family environment.

Under Calcida’s care, Alessandra is now thriving in her new home. She is healthy and now receives the care that every child deserves. She enjoys school and you can frequently find her at home smothering her baby brother in hugs and kisses.
